Final act signed, signed into law 12th December 2017, published in OJ 28th December 2017.
On 30 September 2015, the European Commission published a proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down common rules on securitisation and creating a European framework for simple, transparent and standardised securitisation, along with a proposal for a Regulation amending Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 on prudential requirements for credit institutions and investment firms . The two proposals aim to restart European securitisation markets in a sustainable way, in order to improve the financing of the EU economy, while ensuring financial stability and investor protection, and to revise accordingly the regulatory framework on capital charges for exposures to securitisations.
