Regulation 253 Co-operation with authorities responsible for credit institutions and investment firms

(1) Where an insurance undertaking or reinsurance undertaking and either a credit institution as defined in Directive 2006/48/EC or an investment firm as defined in Directive 2004/39/EC, or both, are directly or indirectly related or have a common participating undertaking, the Bank, where it authorised the insurance undertaking, reinsurance undertaking or investment firm, or is responsible for the supervision of the credit institution, shall co-operate closely with the supervisory authority concerned or (as the case may be) the authority responsible for the supervision of the investment firm or credit institution.

(2) Without prejudice to their respective responsibilities, the Bank shall provide the other authority with any information likely to simplify their task, in particular as set out in this Part.
