100. The assessment by the competent authority should assess how the benchmark will be transitioned to a new administrator, or ceases to be provided, taking into account the procedure established by the administrator according to BMR Article 28(1).

101. In relation to the transition of the provision of the critical benchmark to a new administrator, a number of criteria should be considered.

102. The characteristics of the entity that the assessment of the current administrator proposes as the new administrator of the critical benchmark should be checked against all the applicable requirements of BMR. Most importantly, the new administrator should be able to ensure the continuity of the provision of the critical benchmark, in a way that EU supervised entities can continue to use such critical benchmark without interruption and in compliance with BMR.
