FS Regulation Committee seeks further enforcement proposal reassurance

The House of Lords Financial Services Regulation Committee has written to Nikhil Rathi in response to the FCA’s letter to the Committee which in turn responded to the Committee’s concerns about the FCA’s proposals to name firms under investigation. The response expresses disappointment that Mr Rathi himself had not signed the FCA letter, since the Committee had written to him. It also expresses concern that the response did not refer to the Committee’s express request that the FCA takes no further steps until the Committee has taken evidence on the proposals and come to a conclusion. It asks for the FCA to clarify its position.
