On 4 September 2024, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) launched a consultation on proposed guidance for UK trade repositories (TRs) registered under Article 55 of the UK European Market Infrastructure Regulation (UK EMIR), ahead of the implementation of the new UK EMIR reporting requirements that apply from 30 September 2024.
The proposed guidance is in the form of questions and answers and has been developed in response to requests from UK TRs that were specific to TR operations or how to validate certain fields in industry submitted reports.
The FCA is inviting feedback on the proposed guidance from UK TRs and counterparties in scope of the UK EMIR reporting requirements, as well as trade associations, law firms and consultancy firms that work with those TRs or counterparties.
The consultation closes on 25 September 2024.
