The FCA has reported on whistleblowing disclosures made to it in the year to 31 March 2024 under the Prescribed Persons Regulations 2017. During the year it received 1,125 new reports (having seen a gradual increase year on year). Nearly half were made online. During the year, it took significant action to manage harm in respect of 61 reports and action to reduce harm in respect of 486 – including information received in other reporting periods. 70% of whistleblowers provided their identity.
Allegations related mainly to compliance, fitness and propriety, culture of organisation and consumer detriment.
