I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 and 4 of the Financial Services (Deposit Guarantee Scheme) Act 2009 (No. 13 of 2009) and section 3 (as amended by the European Communities Act 2007 (No. 18 of 2007) of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972)), and for the purpose of giving further effect to Directive 94/19/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 1994 [OJ No. L135, 31.5.1994, p.5], hereby make the following regulations:
