The Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan TD, invites interested parties to make submissions in relation to the transposition of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and the Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR).
This Directive and Regulation are required to be transposed by 3rd July 2017.
The purpose of this consultation is to obtain submissions on the transposition of Directive 2014/65/EU and Regulation (600/2014) of the European Parliament and Council of 15 May 2014. This consultation will inform the decision-making with regard to provisions in MiFID II and MiFIR where Member States have discretion as to whether to apply them, and if so, how in national legislation.
The consultation period will run from 07 July to 21 September, a period of 11 weeks.
