During the transitional period and notwithstanding section 25 of the Central Bank Act, 1989, contracts may, by virtue of Article 8 of the Council Regulation of 1998, be made, entered into, done and executed in the euro unit notwithstanding the fact that notes and coins denominated in euro or in cent are not in circulation.
