19. Advances by Minister to Bureau and audit of accounts of Bureau by Comptroller and Auditor General.

(1) The Minister may, from time to time, with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, make advances to the Bureau, out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas, in such manner and such sums as the Minister may determine for the purposes of expenditure by the Bureau in the performance of its functions.

(2) The First Schedule to the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act, 1993, is hereby amended by the insertion before "Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal" of "Criminal Assets Bureau".

(3) The person who from time to time has been appointed by the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform under the Exchequer and Audit Departments Act, 1866, as the Accounting Officer for the Vote for the Office of the Minister shall prepare in a format prescribed by the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform an account of the moneys provided to the Bureau by the Oireachtas in any financial year and submit it for examination to the Comptroller and Auditor General not later than 90 days after the end of that financial year.

(4) All of the duties specified in section 19 of the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act, 1993, shall apply to the Accounting Officer for the Vote for the Office of the Minister in regard to the income, expenditure and assets of the Bureau.
