Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1

The Treasury are a government department designated [S.I. 2012/1759.] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 [1972 c. 68.] in relation to financial services.

The Treasury make these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 and section 8(1) of, and paragraph 21(a)(ii) and (b) of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 [2018 c. 16.].

In accordance with paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 7 to the European Withdrawal Act 2018, a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
