This Regulation introduces a framework to ensure the accuracy and integrity of indices used as benchmarks in financial instruments and financial contracts, or to measure the performance of investment funds in the United Kingdom. This Regulation thereby contributes to the proper functioning of the UK financial markets while achieving a high level of consumer and investor protection.
