(1) No relevant document which is to be given to a relevant authority is to be treated as given until it is received by that authority in legible form, and for the purposes of any provision of or made under the Act which requires a relevant authority to take any action within a specified period beginning with the day on which a document was received by that authority, that day is the day on which the document is actually received in legible form.
(2) For the purposes of paragraph (1), where a relevant document is given by fax and a copy sent in accordance with paragraph (2) of regulation 8, that document is to be treated as given to the FCA, the PRA or the Bank of England on either the day on which the fax is actually received by it or the day on which the copy is actually received by the Authority, whichever day is the earlier.
