(1) These Regulations do not apply to contracts of reinsurance.
(1A) These Regulations do not apply to contracts of insurance entered into on or after 17th December 2009.
(2) These Regulations apply to contracts of insurance which are entered into by friendly societies before 17th December 2009 as follows -
(a) Part II applies to a contract of insurance entered into by a friendly society to which section 37(3) of the Friendly Societies Act 1992 [1992 c. 40.] applies;
(b) Part III applies to a contract of insurance entered into by a friendly society to which section 37(2) of that Act applies; and
(c) Part II applies to any other contract of insurance entered into by a friendly society which covers a risk situated in an EEA State with the following modifications -
(i) paragraph (1) of regulation 4 does not apply;
(ii) regulation 4 applies only where the policyholder is an individual;
(iii) regulation 7(1) applies as if for the words "the 1990 Act is to be treated as applying", there were
