Article 41

1. The Commission shall be assisted by a Committee on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, hereinafter 'the Committee'.

2. Where reference is made to this paragraph, Articles 5 and 7 of Decision 1999/468/EC shall apply, having regard to Article 8 thereof and provided that the measures adopted in accordance with that procedure do not modify the essential provisions of this Directive.

The period laid down in Article 5(6) of Decision 1999/468/EC shall be set at three months.

2a. The power to adopt delegated acts referred to in Article 40 shall be conferred on the Commission for a period of 4 years from 4 January 2011. The Commis­sion shall draw up a report in respect of the delegated power at the latest 6 months before the end of the four-year period. The delegation of power shall be automati­cally extended for periods of an identical duration, unless the European Parliament or the Council revokes it in accordance with Article 41a.
