Regulation 28

Nothing in section 16 of the Central Bank Act, 1989, or section 44 of the Building Societies Act, 1989, shall prohibit the disclosure of information by the Bank to any person in the State, or an authority in a foreign jurisdiction, duly authorised by law to supervise credit institutions, or a deposit guarantee scheme in another Member State established in accordance with the Directive where such disclosure is required by, or is necessary for, the discharge by the Bank of a function imposed by virtue of these Regulations or the Directive and is made in accordance with Article 12 of Directive 77/780/EEC of 12 December 1977.
