Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1(2) and (3)

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 [1972 c.68; section 2(2) was amended by section 27 of the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act 2006 (c.51) and by section 3 of, and the Schedule to, the European Union (Amendment) Act 2008 (c.7).], sections 784(1), 785(1), 788 and 1292 of the Companies Act 2006 [2006 c.46. Section 785 was amended by section 112 of the Financial Services Act 2012 (c.21).] and section 8(1) of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 4 and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 [2018 c.16.], make the following Regulations.

The Treasury are designated [S.I. 2012/1759.] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to financial services.

In accordance with section 789 of the Companies Act 2006, the Treasury have carried out such consultation as appeared to them to be appropriate.
