Acting in accordance with the ordinary legislative procedure [Position of the European Parliament of 21 October 2021 (not yet published in the Official Journal) and decision of the Council of 9 November 2021.],
Whereas:
(1) Insurance against civil liability in respect of the use of motor vehicles ('motor insurance') is of special importance for European citizens, whether they are policyholders or could become injured parties as a result of an accident. It is also a major concern for insurance undertakings, as it constitutes an important segment of the 'non-life' insurance market
