Rule 2 Interpretation
(1) In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires -
"the 1923 Act" means the Industrial Assurance Act 1923 [1923 c. 8.];
"the 1985 Act" means the Companies Act 1985 [1985 c. 6.];
"the 1986 Act" means the Insolvency Act 1986;
"the 2000 Act" means the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000;
"the Authority" means the Financial Conduct Authority or the Prudential Regulation Authority;
"company" means an insurer which is being wound up;
"contract of general insurance" and "contract of long-term insurance" have the meaning given by article 3(1) of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 2001 [S.I 2001/544, amended by S.I. 2001/3544.];
