140. Retention of certain information in non-legible form.

(1) A requirement imposed on any person by any enactment to retain for a specified period any voucher (by whatever name called) relating to an entry in the books of account of a holder of a licence under section 9 of the Central Bank Act, 1971 (as amended by this Act), in respect of any matter, transaction or account between such person and the holder of the licence shall be satisfied if such person or the holder of the licence retains a complete record of the information on such voucher by recording it on microfilm, magnetic tape or in any non-legible form (by use of electronics or otherwise) which is capable of being reproduced in a permanent legible form.

(2) Where information on a voucher to which subsection (1) relates is retained by the person concerned or by the holder of the licence under section 9 of the Central Bank Act, 1971 (as amended by this Act), by recording it in accordance with that subsection, then any duty imposed on that person or that holder by any enactment to al
