It shall be a defence in any proceedings against any person for an offence under this Part for such person to prove that he or she was not aware of the accident or dangerous occurrence in relation to which he or she was required by Regulation 225 to send a written report to the Authority and that he or she had taken all reasonable steps to have such accident or dangerous occurrence brought to his or her notice.
