Article 56 National economic importance threshold

A supervised entity established in a participating Member State or a supervised group whose parent undertaking is established in a participating Member State shall be classified as significant on the basis of its importance for the economy of the relevant participating Member State if:

A: B ≥ 0,2 (national economic importance threshold)

and

A ≥ EUR 5 billion

whereby

A is the total value of assets determined in accordance with Articles 51 to 55 for a given calendar year, and

B is the gross domestic product at market prices as defined in point 8.89 of Annex A to Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council [Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union (OJ L 174, 26.6.2013, p. 1).] (ESA 2010) and published by Eurostat for the given calendar year.
