6. Independence of Bank and Governor not affected.

Nothing in this Act prevents the performance by the Governor or the Bank of their functions in relation to any credit institution authorised or regulated in the State, or affects any obligation arising under the treaties governing the European Union or the European Communities (within the meaning given by section 1 of the European Communities Act 1972) or the ESCB Statute (within the meaning given by section 2 of the Act of 1942).
