43. Contracts not void on account of conviction of pawnbroker.
(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, where a pawnbroker is convicted of an offence under this Act (not being an offence under the provisions relating to licences) any contract made by him with a pawner or otherwise in relation to his business shall not be void by reason only of the conviction, nor shall he lose his lien on or right to the pledge or to the loan and the interest and lawful charges thereon by reason only of the conviction.
(2) Nothing in this section shall restrict the operation of any provision of this Act providing for the delivery by order of a court to the lawful owner of any goods or chattels unlawfully pawned.
