Regulation 2 Interpretation generally

(1) In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires -

"accepted market practices" means practices that are - (a) reasonably expected in one or more financial markets, and (b) accepted by the Bank in accordance with Schedule 1;

"act" includes an omission (and, accordingly, any reference to an act done includes an omission made);

"approved stock exchange" has the same meaning as it has in the Stock Exchange Act 1995 (No. 9 of 1995);

"Bank" means the Central Bank of Ireland;

"contravention" includes, in relation to any provision, a failure to comply with that provision and "contravene" shall be construed accordingly;

"Court" means the High Court;

"credit institution" means any person as defined in Article 1(1) of Directive 2000/12/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 March 2000 [OJ L126, 26.05.2000, p.1] relating to the taking up and pursuit of the business of credit institutions;

"Directive of 2010" means Directive 2010/78/EU of the European Parli
