Regulation 2 Interpretation.

(1) In these Regulations, except where the context otherwise requires -

"administrator" means - (a) an administrator appointed under section 2 of the Insurance (No. 2) Act 1983 (No. 29 of 1983) to an insurance undertaking authorised by the Bank, (b) an examiner appointed under section 2 of the Companies (Amendment) Act 1990 (No. 27 of 1990) to an insurance undertaking authorised by the Bank, or (c) any person or body appointed to an insurance undertaking (being an insurance undertaking authorised in a Member State other than the State) by the competent authorities of that State for the purpose of administering reorganisation measures;

"Bank" means the Central Bank and Financial Services Authority of Ireland;

"branch" means any permanent presence of an insurance undertaking in the territory of a Member State other than the home Member State which carries on insurance business;

"Companies Acts" means the Companies Acts 1963 to 2001;
