(1) The Financial Services Ombudsman is required to attend a meeting of a joint committee of the Houses of the Oireachtas whenever asked to do so by the committee and to provide such information (including documents) as the committee specifies and as is in the possession of, or is available to, that Ombudsman.
(2) Such a committee is not entitled to request the Financial Services Ombudsman to provide information relating to any complaint that is currently under investigation. The Financial Services Ombudsman must refuse to comply with a request from the committee to provide it with any such information.
